Dressage Defined:

Dressage is a French term meaning Training. The fundamental purpose of dressage is to develop through standarized progressive training methods the horses natural athletic ability and willingness to perform, thereby maximizing it's potential as a riding horse.



Claudia Harris, born and raised in Germany, started her riding career at age 7 under the watchful eye of internationally known instructors. At age 14, she was recruited to join a German eventing team, competing at the advanced level all over Europe. After many years of showing eventers and show jumpers, she joined a team of dressage trainers in Switzerland whose goal was to develop young competitive dressage riders. There she received her accredidation as instructor in both dressage and show jumping. After moving to the U.S., she built her own training barn in south Florida preparing riders and horses for future careers in dressage and eventing. Relocating to the Tampa Bay area in 2001, she focuses on bringing dressage into the life of young riders. With her expertise in all english riding styles, she can take the mystery out of dressage training and show you how it can improve every horse's athleticism in any riding discipline you choose.
